GREAT TEACHING = GREAT SEX

GREAT TEACHING IS LIKE GREAT SEX

Phub Dorji

Teaching is not necessarily a difficult profession, just as lovemaking is not generally considered a difficult act. Yet great teaching, much like great sex, requires thoughtful preparation, appropriate techniques and responsiveness. This comparison becomes clearer when we examine the essential components of both.

Great sex begins with careful mental, physical and environmental preparation. Having necessary items—such as lubricants, water, tissues and protective gear—readily available can contribute to a comfortable and safe experience. Creating a suitable environment also helps establish the right mood.

Foreplay is an important beginning because it allows partners to discover what brings pleasure and what causes discomfort. Strategy is equally central: both partners must apply sensitivity, skill and attentiveness to make the experience mutually enjoyable.

Time management also matters. A hurried beginning and premature ending may leave both partners dissatisfied, while an excessively slow and prolonged encounter can become tiring or monotonous. The experience should instead maintain a balanced pace and natural rhythm. Variations in tone can enhance that rhythm, while careful attention to body language helps each partner understand feelings that may not be expressed verbally.

The entire experience may be seen as a journey: a confident beginning, a harmonious progression and a satisfying conclusion. Afterwards, a period of relaxation and reflection can deepen satisfaction. Reviewing the experience helps partners recognise what worked well, understand what did not and identify opportunities for improvement.

Great teaching follows many of the same principles. An effective teacher prepares thoroughly before entering the classroom. Lesson plans are developed, teaching aids are assembled, suitable strategies are selected and meaningful activities are designed.

A welcoming learning environment is created through engaging pre-lesson warm-up activities. The lesson is then delivered at an appropriate pace, with effective activities, variations in tone and suitable body language. Finally, follow-up activities are conducted, key ideas are summarised, and the lesson is reviewed. Through reflection, teachers can recognise their strengths, address their weaknesses and continually improve their practice.

Teacher of my dream

Teacher of my dream
It takes a perfect unification of numerous qualities to become an effective teacher. A good teacher to me is embedded in the word TEACHER itself. If a person is Thoughtful, Energetic, Adaptable, Creative, Honest, Educated, and Respectful, he or she can become a great teacher. A great teacher’s teaching must be Thought-provoking, Entertaining, Artistic, Curious, Harmonious, Incredible, Natural and Generous. It is what ‘teaching’ stands for.
Teaching is not a simple task that any literate beings can take it up as a profession. The passion for teaching and the patience to prepare for teaching are two difficult facets of this noble profession. The single most important quality that every teacher should possess is a love and passion for teaching people with patience. Teachers who do not enjoy their job cannot possibly be an effective teacher despite being the intellectual genius or academic champion.
I strive to become a teacher that stands for the aforementioned descriptions. I work hard to understand the content that I teach. I never stop to learn. I prepare and learn to explain the content in a way my students understand.

The yellows on boughs

The Yellows on Boughs

She placed her prayers on blooming boughs,
Passed them softly with loving vows,
She praised their glow in golden rows,
Where sunlight sleeps on petals’ brows.

They grew in grace, in gentle hue,
Fed by hope and morning dew,
Each blossom swore the skies above
To live long lives of light and love.

No wilted dreams on careless ground,
No broken gold in grief be found,
Let beauty stay where it is grown,
And crown the branches, not the stone.

Before she weaves her farewell wreath,
Before she rests in quiet beneath,
Let flowers dance in joyful breath,
And bloom beyond the reach of death.

From pieces to peace

From Pieces to Peace

Cast me into the abyss of night,
Chain my wings and steal my light,
Break me on the anvil of pain,
Feed my bones to storm and flame.

Bury me where dead gods sleep,
Where ancient sorrows guard the deep,
Grind me into sacred dust—
Still the stars will know my trust.

For ashes are a warrior’s womb,
From ruin rises living bloom,
I blaze again in scarlet skies,
A sun reborn where darkness dies.

From shattered worlds I shape my throne,
With fire for blood and steel for bone,
No fate can bind, no fear can cease—
I conquer chaos into peace.

The Rainbow in the Darkness

The Rainbow in the Darkness

Come my dear to the land of fireflies
The moon has awaken the sleeping stars
The birds fast asleep and so the beasts.
Lift your feet like you walk on clouds
Among the flowers and tender leaves.
Should you trust and walk by my side
You shall hear the songs in their snores
Drunk with sleep and their own scents mixed
Above our heads in harmonies move.

We shall tiptoe the forest floor
Lit up blue with the fireflies' torch
Lined like lamp posts along the path
To the realm of silence, the eternal bliss.

Tell me then your saddest tale
Of broken heart and of sterile dreams
I shall seal my lips and listen
Till the tale ends with your tears
And start anew with my tears afresh.
Then moon shall witness the union of hearts
As tears fall and unite above the ground
The fireflies' glow and the shadow of tears
Create shimmering rainbow in the silent darkness.

There is Friendship...

There Is Friendship…

There is friendship in the whispering wood,
Where silent hearts are understood,
All we need is a gentle mind,
And willing feet that walk in kind,
When flowers close their weary eyes,
And dreams grow deep beneath the skies.

There is friendship on mountains tall,
Where hope stands firm though spirits fall,
All we need is a faithful flame,
To climb through cloud and wind and pain,
When birds grow still in evening’s keep,
And song itself drifts off to sleep.

There is friendship in the rivers’ flow,
Where secrets only patience knows,
All we need is a listening soul,
To walk beside life’s changing role,
When currents fight in restless stride,
And peace swims hard against the tide.

There is friendship in the breathing air,
That teaches hearts to trust and care,
All we need is love made true,
To feel the world begin anew,
When open arms replace all fear,
And lonely spirits draw near.

Never from now

Never From Now

Never have I fallen so low, so far, so still,
Where hope lay pale beneath grief’s heavy will.
Never has my gentle light so softly fled,
Like fading stars where night and sorrow wed.

Never did a voice so pierce my trembling soul,
A whispered doom no comfort could console.
I wept till darkness learned my silent cry,
Till even prayer grew weary passing by.

Forever shall this choice, a shadowed chain,
Walk with my years in sorrow’s slow domain,
Where broken spirits wander, hushed and alone,
Till remorse leads every lost heart home.
